Tracking a mail server issue
We are having issues with sending email from 01383.uk to one of our clients. julianowen.co.uk
How to manually test if an SMTP server can receive email
I performed the following tests using the above article.
STEP 1 from windows laptop
>nslookup
> set type=mx
> julianowen.co.uk
Server: UnKnown
Address: fd01:fff9:913b:0:681:9bff:fe1f:e138
Non-authoritative answer:
julianowen.co.uk MX preference = 10, mail exchanger = mx.stackmail.com
> quit
Then perform the telnet command:
telnet mx.stackmail.com 25

connecting to port 25 to other mail servers from my server succeeds, so port 25 inbound our outbound does not appear to be blocked. There are no other issues sending to any other domain from the server, just to mx.stackmail.com traceroute mx.stackmail.com
